About Liberty

In January 1997, Liberty emerged in a market that was severely deprived of financial alternatives for customers who weren’t being serviced by traditional lenders or banks.

Today, Liberty Financial remains the leader of the speciality lending market in Australia and New Zealand having helped over 80,000 customers meet their financial needs by offering a competitive range of specialty products and services. Liberty has also raised over A$10 billion from domestic and international capital markets cementing its position as the leader in the specialist finance industry.

Independently rated by Moody’s Investors Service and Standard & Poor’s, Moody’s have stated that "The manager and servicer, Liberty Financial Pty Limited, is the leading mortgage lender specialising in the non-conforming mortgage market in Australia." (Moody's Investors Services 14 November, 2000)

What this means for borrowers is the most competitive interest rates in the market as Liberty can access its funds at a cost effective rate and pass these along to borrowers.

Going from strength to strength, Liberty Financial has offices in all the major states, with its head office situated in Melbourne. Liberty also has a significant presence in New Zealand with an office in Auckland and representation in Wellington. A dynamic, fast growing organisation Liberty currently has a staff of 360.

Mortgages

Liberty Financial’s Star product provides consumers with the widest acceptance range of any mortgage product on the market. What this means is that Liberty’s Star loan can be priced to fit customers who may not meet the criteria of traditional lenders because of past credit defaults or even discharged bankruptcy, but it can just as easily be attractively priced to suit customers with clean credit histories and strong financials.

Those falling outside the criteria of traditional lenders and mortgage insurers for reasons such as gifted deposit, unusual or seasonal income source or the need to consolidate numerous debts may also find Liberty’s Star product to be suitable for their circumstances.

Liberty’s Star loan provides an alternative verification option called Nova, which caters to self-employed borrowers. It also provides a Jumbo option which caters to high net worth borrowers, giving them access to large size loans upwards of $10m.

Using Liberty’s sophisticated technology platform, LoanNET, Star can be priced to fit borrowers with an exceptionally wide range of financial situations and needs.

With great rates and no application fees Liberty's Star loan provides attractive financial solutions to many Australians.

Motor

Liberty motor loans are designed to benefit borrowers who are unable to secure finance for the purchase of a vehicle through mainstream lenders. These flexible loans may help consumers looking to purchase a vehicle through a licensed Motor Car Trader for between $8,000 and $120,000. The vehicle cannot be more than nine years old.

A Liberty motor loan may be the perfect solution for a borrower who has experienced a negative credit position because of a one-off situation such as:

  • divorce
  • failed business
  • temporary unemployment

Liberty motor loans can also assist where a borrower has a spotless credit history but may not meet the lending criteria of traditional lenders for reasons such as:

  • erratic residence or employment history
  • numerous credit file enquiries
