Aussies plan to boost savings this year

More than three quarters of Australian participating in an online poll by News Ltd newspapers plan to increase their savings in 2010. 76 per cent of respondents said they would build their savings this year. 35 per cent said they would not be adding to their savings in 2010.

Australians currently hold $352 billion in term deposits with banks, according to data from the RBA, up from $173 billion five years ago.
