SENSE account helps with saving

03/03/2010

St George’s SENSE account helps people budget and save money. The account comes with a Visa debit card and a linked savings account.

When purchases or payments are made on the card or via BPay, they are listed under one of ten categories on the account statement, such as ‘daily living‘ or ‘loans‘. The monthly statement comes with a pie chart showing speeding in each category.

The SENSE account also has an automatic round up savings feature whereby some small change is deposited into the savings account from the transaction account when a purchase is made.

For example if an item cost $12.60, the account rounds up the transaction to $13 and places forty cents into the savings account.
