First home buyers turn to flats

03/08/2010

Many first home buyers are choosing apartments or smaller home in inner suburbs rather than larger homes in outer suburbs say agents. Auction agents say there has been a sudden increase in the numbers of first home buyers bidding for inner city apartments.

The first owners boost ended on Jan 1 2010. First home buyers are still eligible for a $7,000 grant from the federal government plus state government grants. Some state governments have higher grants available for purchases in regional areas.
