Flat sharing expensive in Darwin

23/07/2010

Data released by EasyRoommate shows Darwin to be the most expensive city for Australian flatsharers. The average monthly rent for a flatshare advertisement in Darwin is $779, compared to $603 in Sydney and just $577 in Melbourne.

Radek Dobrolecki, Director of EasyRoommate Australia, commented, “Across the board, choosing to share your home still offers great value for money when compared to renting alone. What’s interesting is that living in Sydney or Melbourne can actually save you money when compared to Darwin. Australia’s two largest cities are not the most expensive to live in.”
