Inner city house bargains do exist

23/07/2010

Opportunities to purchase relatively affordable inner city properties still exist according to rpdata.com’s Cameron Kusher. While the affordable choices may not come with the bells and whistles of top-end properties of a similar distance, the price tag can be reasonable and the land sizes surprising. “Buyers seeking an affordable detached home may not necessarily have to look in the outer fringes of the city - the range in house prices located similar distances from the city can be quite extraordinary,” Mr Kusher said today.

In Sydney’s inner west, the suburb of Sydenham which is just 10 kilometres from the city has reasonably priced homes with a median price of around $600,000. In Perth, buyers can find an inner city house for $420,000 in a suburb such as Cloverdale. Meanwhile, within 10 kilometres of the Melbourne and Brisbane CBD’s, buyers will receive change from $400,000 in the suburbs of Braybrook and Rocklea respectively. In Adelaide there are now several inner city ring suburbs with a median house price as low as $264,000.
