Westpac chief sets property record

03/02/2010

Westpac chief executive Gail Kelly has set a new record for the highest price paid for acreage in Sydney’s north. Kelly has bought a country estate worth about $9 million at Terrey Hills in Sydney’s north.

The two-house estate, with tennis court, stables, arena and even a cross-country track, was on the market in 2008 for more than $10million but sold for a $1million-plus discount. Ms Kelly, 53, a former history teacher and mother of four, earned $10.6million in the 12 months up to September.
