Credit Suisse wants to grow in Australia into a leading financial institution. The bank has appointed David Livingstone as chief executive for Australia. Credit Suisse said the appointment was critical in a key strategic country in the Asia Pacific.
Mr Livingstone would report to the Asia Pacific CEO, Kai Nargolwala."This appointment is an extremely important step in realising our ambitions for Australia," said Mr Nargolwala.
"Credit Suisse is committed to continue investing in our Australian operation, building the business into a leading client-focused financial institution. We have a number of market-leading businesses in Australia and we believe there is very significant further growth potential for Credit Suisse."
Mr Livingstone, who is also a managing director in Credit Suisse’s European investment banking department, will replace David Trude, who has led the Australian operations since 2000.
