Investor confidence hits record low

23/01/2012

Investor confidence is hitting new lows and ultra defensive retirees, savers and even borrowers are all heading for the locked in certainty of fixed rate products as shares and property enter their fifth volatile year.

27 per cent of investors are currently looking to move out of riskier investments and increase their cash holdings according to researcher CoreData’s latest Investor Sentiment Index released this week.

Investor confidence has hit a new record low, reported CoreData, eclipsing the old record set amid the dark days of the global financial crisis in early 2009.
