$150 million fibre-optic project for Canberra
Canberra will play host to a $150 million fibre optic cable, a project of TransACT Communications. The broadband link will be able to carry telephone, cable TV, and the internet simultaneously as well provide 36Mbps inbound capacity to each individual user. TransACT plans to have installed cables within six areas in Canberra by February 2001.
