ACA picks best on the cards

The Australian Consumers' Association urges people to shop around for the best deal when looking for credit cards. Changes in the market have seen new cards on offer, such as Virgin Money's, and more competitive products for the consumer to choose from. However, the ACA found there are still traps for the unwary such as increases in annual fees, merchants charging for credit card payments and reductions in loyalty scheme benefits. It recommends that consumers select a card based on their spending patterns and indentifies the top 10 card recommendations including Virgin Money's MasterCard, NAB's Visa Classic, Commonwealth Bank's Ezy MasterCard, the Savings and Loans Credit Union card, the Women's and Children's Hospital Visa card and Westpac's No Annual Fee MasterCard.
