ACA slams Qantas frequent flyer devaluation
The Australian Consumers Association says it is unacceptable for Qantas to devalue frequent flyer points already accumulated by frequent travellers and millions of credit card users. The ACA said Qantas frequent flyers would be justified at being disappointed in losing about 20 per cent of the value of their accumulated points. Qantas has said it would change the terms of its frequent flyer scheme from May 2005. People signed up to the scheme will no longer be able to use their points to upgrade discount fares, and on other fares will be able to request upgrades only at the check-in counter.
