Airlines fill Flight West gaps in Qld

Qantas and Ansett have scheduled extra services on Queensland regional routes to fill the gaps left by the sudden collapse of Flight West.

Qantas, through its Sunstate Airlines subsidiary, will fly daily return services between Brisbane and Long Reach, Charleville and Roma for at least the next two weeks.

Ansett's Kendell Airlines and Sunshine Express will fly routes between Brisbane, Bundaberg, Cairns, Darwin, Hervey Bay, Maroochydore and Weipa as well as Darwin to Gove.

The two airlines will honour FlightWest tickets already purchased on these routes.
