AMP launches credit card to public

AMP Banking have announced that their co-branded credit card with American Express is now available to the general public.

First launched to AMP shareholders and customers in June of last year, the card has been quite successful, due mainly to the low interest rate of 9.95 per cent for the first six months, after which it then reverts to 13.85 per cent, which is still one of the cheapest rates around.

The card also has 55 days interest free, no joining fee or annual fee in the first year, and the annual fee is waived in subsequent years if more than $5,000 is spent in a year. Using the card also earns you points in the AMP Rewards program.

Following the success of the card with AMP shareholders and customers, and with the additional bonus of having all of the advantages of American Express’ services, this card should prove to be a standout product in an increasingly crowded marketplace.
