Ansett sale delay
The sale of Ansett to the Fox-Lew Tesna consortium, due to take place on February 1 has been delayed despite the plan being approved at the creditors’ meeting in Melbourne.
The delay has been caused by objections from Sydney Airport Corporation over use of the Ansett terminal as well as the administrative load on the administrators.
For travellers, it appears this means that the new pricing structure and route network to be offered under Tesna will not be introduced this week as planned. The network was to be scaled back initially to the five mainland State capital cities with Canberra and Hobart excluded.
InfoChoice had also found that cheaper fares were available in some instances than those being offered under administration.
