Asian investments may rule at ANZ

ANZ's investment priorities are tilting toward Asia in a fashion that distinguishes the fourth of Australia's four major banks from its domestic peers. Managing director John McFarlane, said he expected the bank would lift its proportion of assets in the region from 10 per cent to a quarter, “and then take it from there …. We cast our net quite wide, and given the specific risk of each investment and country we'd like our involvement to be diversified… We've made quite good progress in Asia, certainly far greater than anybody else from Australia.”
