Aussies still pick TV over the net

Broadband access must increase across the country and costs decrease before Australians use the Internet for entertainment purposes. A recent report concluded that a mere 2 out of the 38 per cent of Australians who have Internet access use it for online entertainment. According to Martyn Mitchell, lead partner of the Technology, Information, Communication and Entertainment Industry Group, Australian Internet users still prefer their TVs and stereos to watch movies and listen to music. Mitchell also concedes that both the quality of content and broadband access must increase before consumers use the Internet for entertainment.
