Banks commit to improved customer service

The Australian Bankers’ Association (ABA) has appointed former auditor general of Australia, Ian McPhee as an independent expert to protect consumer interests. Ian McPhee will report on whether banks are making progress towards delivering on their customer rights commitments, with the first report to be released by 21 July 2016.

Mr McPhee’s role will continue until the industry’s commitments have been substantially implemented.
