Bendigo likely to reject BoQ

Bendigo Bank is likely to reject a $2.7 billion merger proposal from Bank of Queensland. Bendigo has consistently said that it would consider the interests of all stakeholders, including shareholders, staff, customers, alliance partners, communities and others. Bendigo has booked a press conference at the Sofitel Wentworth Hotel in Sydney where it will publicly outline its position, however it is understood that BoQ has not been notified about the press conference, prompting speculation that Bendigo would reject the merger proposal.
