Big Banks increase lending market share

National Australia Bank led the big banks in increasing their share of the lending market in the 12 months to November. APRA reported that NAB grew its domestic lending volume by 19.3 per cent. In the rural lending market, Elders Rural Bank – a joint venture between Bendigo Bank and Futuris Corporation – recorded an impressive 25.1 per cent increase in its loan book. Citibank reported a decrease in its lending for the year of $3.3 billion or 17.4 per cent.
