Blood clot summit in Sydney this week

A summit about the health risks of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and air travel will be held in Sydney this Friday. The Griffith University School of Aviation will convene the summit with representatives from the Federal Department of Health, the National Health and Medical Research Council, half a dozen major airlines, and unions representing pilots, flight attendants and cabin crew expected to attend. The summit comes after widespread media exposure and public concern regarding the risks of blood clots during air travel.
