CBA dispels some home loan myths
Investors who take out mortgages present no greater risk of falling into arrears than owner-occupiers, according to Commonwealth Bank research. CBA compared the 30 and 90 day arrears data for the CBA's owner-occupier and investment loans books and found owner-occupiers “tracked slightly worse” during the period under investigation – June 2003 to October 2006. CBA compared the performance of third party and bank originated home loans over the same period. Grafton said the performance of third party loans was worse but the difference was “tiny”.
