Change of heart for new members

Medibank Private says over 60 per cent of its members are changing the type of policy they have with the health fund after consulting with its staff. The results come from a survey Medibank conducted that examined its members' policy details. Mr Mark Burrowes, managing director of Medibank, says the company is currently undertaking a nationwide review to ensure that policy holders had the correct cover for their age and medical needs. This follows the ACCC's claim that consumers may have been misled after being given incorrect advice from staff at health funds call centres. However, MBF says it too conducted a survey of its members and found that most of its customers were happy with their policies and only less than 1 per cent wanted to change.
