Choose a bank account with ATMs that suit you

Withdrawing cash from your bank account at an ATM that belongs to another bank, known as a foreign ATM, costs Australians more than $627 million a year.

Average foreign ATM fees are $2 and are fairly easy for most Australians to avoid.

About 40 per cent of ATM withdrawals are made at an ATM not owned by the customer’s own bank.

These fees can really add up so choose a bank that has ATMs where you need them.
