CommBank is our new favourite big bank

Commonwealth Bank has overtaken NAB to claim the top spot among the big four banks in Roy Morgan Research's latest consumer banking satisfaction survey.

CBA was trailing the pack in 2005 and 2006 but has steadily improved its position since former chief executive Ralph Norris made it a priority to raise the bank's satisfaction rating.

Among the majors, CBA scored a rating of 80 per cent, NAB 79.5 per cent, Westpac 77.3 per cent and ANZ 76.1 per cent.
