Cooling off periods for mobile phone and internet contracts
If Labor wins power, all mobile phone and internet contracts will be subject to cooling off periods of two to three days.
Consumers will be able to opt out of the deals within this time frame. This was stated in the Labor consumer affairs policy which was released yesterday.
There will also be a credit limit on all types of phone accounts to prevent users from spending huge amounts on their phone calls and receiving an exceptionally large bill at the end of the month.
