Darwin has highest population growth

Figures from the Australian Bureau of statistics show that Darwin, capital of the Northern Territory, had the nation's highest population growth of 2.5 per cent in 2005/06. During the same period Queensland's regional population increased by 2.1 per cent, while Brisbane's population rose 1.6 per cent. Regional Western Australia's population rose 1.9 per cent while Perth had a growth rate of 2 per cent.
