Delinquent credit card users plan to reoffend

A survey of 2000 people by non-conforming lender Liberty Financial found that one in four people were planning to delay paying bills in the lead-up to Christmas in order to spend more. Liberty said consumers could face a massive debt hangover, with about 17 per cent of people struggling to pay credit card bills and mortgage repayments. The Liberty survey also found that two thirds used their credit cards to pay for the majority of Christmas purchases, and more than a quarter had struggled to repay credit card balances relating to Christmas expenditures in the past.
