Eight per cent term deposits ending soon

Investors willing to lock away $10,000 for one year can get rates of 8 per cent, but those historically high interest rates are set to fall. Bank deposits and property investments have performed almost as well over the last ten years as Australian shares and much better than international shares. Equity investments have fallen 25 per cent in the 12 months to September 30 said Russell investments. House prices rose 150 per cent in the ten years ending June 30 2008. Commercial property did even better over the ten year time frame.
