Employment Figures Released.

Latest figure released by the ABS show full-time employment moving strongly upward, with 23,100 jobs created in January. However, the lacklustre response the news created in the market prove that, regardless of a strengthening local economy, fears about Asia still dominate.
But a drop of 20,700 in part-time employment – a traditional stronghold of the tourism industry – means that in seasonally adjusted terms, jobs growth moved up by only 2,400, and could point to an early impact of the Asian crisis.
