Ethical funds outperform the average managed fund

Shares prices of companies that act in a socially responsible way outperform those that fail to do so by more than 3 per cent a year research by AMP Capital Investors found. AMP concluded that stocks with a high corporate social responsibility rating outperformed those with a low rating by 4.8 per cent annually over four years, and by 3 per cent over 10 years. Ethical or socially responsible investment have $4.6 billion under management, according to the Ethical Investment Association.
