Fake RBA email asks customers for their PIN

The Reserve Bank was alerted yesterday to a fake email purporting to come from the RBA asking retail bank customers to provide their credit card numbers and PIN details in order to help counter money laundering and terrorism. The email claims that bank services may cease if the details are not provided. NAB and Westpac said they had not had any customer queries about the email, although ANZ said it had recorded a low level response through its call centre.
