Fake Westpac email wants your credit card details

Westpac is warning customers about a hoax email with the subject line ‘Creditcard INFO – possible fraudulent transaction'. The email asks them to sign into a website in order to confirm their credit card details.

The email has the following message:
“An error was detected in your Westpac credit card information. The reason for the error is not certain, but for security reasons, we have suspended your credit card temporarily. We need you to update your information for further use of this credit card. To lift this suspension click on the next button and follow the steps to re-activate your credit card.”
