Few Victorian buyers apply for bonus

The Victorian Government's new first-home buyers' bonus has attracted fewer applicants than expected with about 700 received so far – 450 metropolitan and 250 in rural and regional areas. A further 300 applications are currently with mortgage brokers and have yet to be submitted. But the State Government still believes that about 26,000 first-home buyers in total will apply for the $5,000 bonus in the 14 months in which it's being offered.
