Government website to offer teens mobile purchase advice
A new website and publication called Money Stuff, aimed at teenagers and young people, will be launched by the Fair Trading Department. The site and publication will outline how to make major purchases wisely, such as a mobile phone or car, without getting into debt. John Watkins, Fair Trading Minister, says that advertising is to blame for the increasing number of young people who are in financial trouble. Mr Watkins points out that most of the complaints submitted to the Fair Trading Department by young people are about computer and mobile phone contracts.
