Growth prompts new ING call centre

ING Direct has opened an $8 million call centre on the NSW central coast to handle its growing direct banking operation and life and funds management business.

The call centre, employing 95 people in the Tuggerah Business Park, is needed to cope with the 10,000 new customers a month the company is attracting, ING Direct’s worldwide head, Hans Vekoren, said.

“Since ING Direct’s launch into Australia just over three years ago, we have grown to become the nation’s fastest growing retail bank with almost 400,000 customers and a deposit base of $7 billion,” Vekoren said.

Construction of the new 3,000 square metre development at Tuggerah Business Park began 12 months ago and is now home to a local workforce of 95 people. The call centre operates between 7.30am and 8pm Monday to Friday.
