Home values push upwards

The average house price across Australian capital cities was up by 3.2 per cent in the June quarter and 9.2 per cent over the year according to data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics. Brisbane recorded the largest increase of 6.5 per cent for the quarter and house prices in Sydney improved with a 2.3 per cent lift in June taking the average increase for the year to 3 per cent. After strong growth over the last few years Perth house prices were down by 0.9 per cent for the quarter Darwin saw a decrease of 1.4 per cent.
