Housing not affordable in Queensland

There is a severe housing affordability crisis across Queensland – especially in Brisbane and the south east – according to a new report from the Queensland branch of the Urban Development Institute of Australia. The affordability gap between the average price people can afford and the average price of an established home has increased to $100,000 and $120,000 in Brisbane. A new home and land package costs $437,000 on average, $90,000 of which is fees and taxes.
