Impulse bargains still available
Good value Internet-only discount fares can still be found on the website of the soon-to-disappear Impulse Airlines.
Impulse Airlines' cut off date of May 14 has been extended until the ACCC hands down a verdict on the proposed alliance with Qantas.
Impulse Airlines spokesperson Caroline Wilkie told FlightChoice “It is business as usual until we hear from the ACCC”. “There should be an answer by the end of the week”.
Sydney-Canberra is available for $108 one-way until 31 December. While this is $36 above the previous best fare for the route, it remains good value. Qantas has pledged to honour all Impulse tickets when it takes control of the airline.
Fares available for travel until May 20 include $99 Sydney-Melbourne, $65 Brisbane-Sydney, $144 Hobart-Sydney, $121 Melbourne-Canberra and $72 Hobart-Melbourne.
Those with Impulse Airlines tickets for travel after the airline is absorbed into Qantas have only until this Sunday May 20 to re-schedule to a Qantas ticket.
It appears many Impulse customers have not yet redeemed their credits, if this is not done before Sunday, Qantas will not honour any outstanding credits.
