In trouble with your loan? Talk to the bank

The Financial Ombudsman Service reported disputes between customers and their banking providers that involved claims of financial difficulty are trending down. The number of financial difficulty disputes fell 12 per cent in the year to June 2015 and is 37 per cent lower over the last three years.

The Ombudsman reported that financial services providers are improving their management of hardship requests from their borrowers and are more willing to provide assistance when requested.
