Investors still like property over shares

Australia's property market may no longer be booming but for most people it's still the place they want to put their money, according to a survey by Talent2. The consulting firm recently survey 1,200 people throughout Australia in a variety of age groups and found property was the preferred investment for 49 per cent of women and 44 per cent of men overall. People in the 45-54 age bracket opted to stick with property with only 26 per cent saying they preferred shares as an investment. In the 25-34 age group, 30 per cent said the sharemarket was better but 51 per cent still had more confidence in property.
