Less Telstra jobs for city, more for bush
Telstra is planning a restructure that will see 10,000 jobs cut mainly in city call centres. Telstra has promised that the job losses will not affect country Australia claiming that people in the bush may in fact get more work, as it will outsource some work to local tradespeople. This will, according to Telstra, eliminate the need for Telstra workers to travel long distances to carry out repair work.
