Market yields better value
Analysts now believe that long-term investors are returning to the share market, with recent strong gains on most indices worldwide. Analysts quoted as saying there was more "upside than downside", although more volatility can be expected in the months ahead. Perpetual head of Australian equities John Sevior indicated that now many shares were no longer overpriced and the madness that had been associated with cheap credit has worked its way through the markets. He felt that shares were priced at their best value for four to five years. However, Henry Bosch, former chairman of the National Companies and Securities Commission, felt it was too early to call a change in the market, he expected some more irrationality before "sanity broke out in the market".
