More than half are struggling

More than half of employed working people are struggling financially, up four per cent on last year according to new research from the University of Sydney. 85 per cent of 8,000 workers surveyed said they had debts such as mortgages and credit cards. 56 per cent said they are just coping or struggling financially. 20 per cent (1.9 million) said they could not make repayments on time. The Australia at Work report says Australians are working longer. The average full time working week is now 44 hours per week, with 20 per cent putting in more than 50 hours per week.
