More women making loan decisions

More women are becoming the home-loan decision makers in households and they are twice as likely to seek advice from friends and family than men, according to RESI Mortgage. The lender's survey of 460 home loan borrowers also found almost half of house buyers look for a home loan providers before looking for properties. And while referrals from friends and family are the most used source of information for women looking for a mortgage provider, men are slightly more likely than women to rely on information in the Internet or magazines. Women now often have a leading role in the mortgage decision-making process and they are going to their most trusted and reliable source of information for advice – their friends and family,” Resi managing director Peter James said.
