NAB and minnows winning market share
The four big banks took an 87 per cent market share of the loans made to owner occupiers and housing investors in February, the same level as in January leading to some analysts to predict that the growth in market share by the big four has peaked. National Australia Bank, had its best monthly performance in five years. Recent fund-raising by the regional banks and credit unions are providing them with more flexibility to offer home loans for slightly less than the majors.
