NAB unable to process 17,000 customer refunds
NAB will abandon efforts to contact at least 17,000 NAB retail customers owed around $10 million connected to overcharging of some fees. The bank admitted to the overcharging more than a year ago. The bank ran newspaper advertisements last week seeking assistance from customers who might be affected, as the bank's records prior to 2000 are incomplete. The overcharging dates back to the early 1990s. NAB told the SMH that 96,000 customers had already received average refunds of $625.
