New airlines enjoy early success

Virgin Blue celebrates 100 days of flying in Australia this weekend. Chief Executive, Brett Godfrey, stated, “Our load factor, the number of Guests flying with us, is averaging 78 per cent which is a world record for a start-up airline.”

Virgin is continuing to expand their fleet which now consists of five Boeing 737-400 planes with the arrival in April of the first of its ten new Boeing 737 aircraft arriving from Seattle.

Meanwhile, Impulse Airlines has reported a lift in profitability in November and is seeking new investors to raise finance towards the $30 million needed for three new jets.
