No sign of rise before next year

Following yesterday's decision by the Reserve Bank of Australia to leave interest rates unchanged, economists now believe that rates are unlikely to move again before early next year. As long as there is no sudden spike in the inflation figure that will be reported later this month there is no case for an increase, with housing construction slow and no sign of wage pressures. There is more chance of a rise next year as strong global and local economic conditions could lead to inflation.
