One million Aussies find a better banking deal

More than one million Aussies have shopped around and left their bank or financial institution for a better deal in the last twelve months according to Roy Morgan Research.

855,000 bank customers found a better deal and left their bank, 65,000 credit union customers left for better pastures, 18,000 dropped their old building society and 140,000 ended their relationship with some other financial institution.

Roy Morgan industry communications director, Norman Morris, said it is easier than ever to swap financial institutions and it’s getting harder for banks to maintain their client base.
